Serviced apartments for long and corporate stays
A hotel room is fine for three nights. For three months it becomes expensive and slightly demoralising — no kitchen, nowhere to put anything, and a bill that assumes you are on holiday. The Roost's Studio rooms are set up for people who are actually living in Chennai for a while: relocating, on a long project, or posted here.
We are on Wallace Garden 3rd Street in Nungambakkam, a residential lane a few minutes' walk from Khader Nawaz Khan Road and close to both the US Consulate and the Anna Salai business corridor.
Who stays with us long-term
- Corporate and project staff on assignments of a month or more, particularly around the Anna Salai and Guindy business corridors.
- Consulate and visa applicants whose paperwork keeps them in the city longer than planned.
- Families relocating to Chennai who need somewhere civilised while they find a permanent flat.
- Visiting faculty and researchers at Loyola College, Stella Maris and the nearby institutions.
The Studio — built for the long stay

Each Studio has a kitchenette with a fridge and kettle, a wardrobe with proper hanging space, a desk you can work at, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Housekeeping is daily. Breakfast is included, so mornings are handled without thinking about it.
The practical difference over a month is not luxury — it is being able to make your own coffee, keep food in a fridge, unpack properly and work from the room without sitting on a bed.
Rates
Published nightly rates start at ₹3,976 for a Deluxe Double, ₹4,476 for a Deluxe Triple and ₹5,976 for a Studio, plus taxes, with breakfast included.
Long-stay pricing is quoted, not listed. Stays of a month or more are priced at a reduced nightly rate for the whole period. Send your dates and rough requirements to reservations and we will come back with a figure for the full stay — it is a conversation, not a booking form.

Getting around from Wallace Garden
| Destination | Distance |
|---|---|
| Khader Nawaz Khan Road (cafés, shops) | ≈ 0.7 km — walkable |
| US Consulate General Chennai | ≈ 1.6 km |
| British Deputy High Commission | ≈ 1.6 km |
| Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road | ≈ 200 m — a 3-min walk |
| Express Avenue Mall | ≈ 3 km |
| Chennai Central railway station | ≈ 4 km |
| Chennai International Airport | ≈ 16 km |
Thousand Lights and Nungambakkam are both walkable for daily needs, and the metro at Thousand Lights connects to the wider network. For a longer stay, being able to walk to a decent coffee and a chemist matters more than being near a highway.
Common questions
Do you offer monthly rates for long stays?
Yes. A month or longer is quoted at a reduced nightly rate for the whole period, not night by night. Breakfast, Wi-Fi, AC and housekeeping stay included — nothing gets added on top.
Which room works best for an extended stay?
The Studio, and it isn't close. Kitchenette, desk, wardrobe. That combination is what makes several weeks workable rather than merely tolerable.
How far is the US Consulate from The Roost?
About 1.6 km, a nine-minute drive. The British Deputy High Commission is much the same. Apollo Hospital is 200 metres and Khader Nawaz Khan Road about 700.
Is housekeeping included on a long stay?
Daily, and included — along with breakfast, Wi-Fi and air conditioning. No extra service charge for staying longer. That's the difference between this and renting a flat.
Can you invoice a company directly?
Yes. We'll raise a GST invoice to the company and settle directly, so the traveller isn't paying upfront and claiming back. Set it up with reservations before arrival, not at check-out.
